In 1995, the market for pet food and accessories in the UK rose 2.4% to 1,652 million pounds sterling. Of the total, 722 million pounds was accounted for by dog food. The total market is expected to grow to 1,677 million pounds by the year 2000. An overview of consumer lifestyles is given, including details of market background, size, and sectors; sources of supply; and distribution.

Euromonitor has divided the sweet and savoury snacks industry, in the UK, into eight main product sectors to help provide a market overview, of chips/crisps, extruded snacks, nuts, tortilla/corn chips, popcorn, which had a growth rate of 2.3% in 2003. However healthier snacks like fruit snacks are more popular.
