Peugeot's profit falls 83 percent as sales of autos decline

Article Abstract:

Peugeot S.A. of France posted a net profit slide to 176 million Euros ($228.5 million) in 2006 from 1.03 billion Euros in 2005. Total revenues increased to 56.59 billion Euros from 56.27 billion Euros, revenue is down 1.1 percent to 44.57 billion Euros. Overall market share is down for the French automobile giant as older automobile models attract less attention in a competitive market.

Renault profit falls 25% on costs, weak demand

Article Abstract:

Regie Nationale des Usines Renault of France posted a slide in first half net profit by 25 percent to 1.63 billion Euros ($2.07 billion) down from 2.17 billion Euros last year. Revenue losses were due to increased raw materials prices and slow sales.
