Poison from the prisons

Article Abstract:

A group of hemophiliacs from Canada is seeking an inquiry into why the export of contaminated plasma from prisons in Louisiana and Arkansas was permitted in the 1980s. The group has already taken legal action against the Canadian government, and plans lawsuits naming the Food and Drug Administration, Health Management Associates (HMA) which was involved in the program, and other bodies. The Canadian government has set up a commision which found that Cummins prison was one source of contaminated plasma. Blood was not always tested at Cummins. HMA claims that there was no AIDs in the South in the 1980s.
