Policy, not oil, saps faith in Jakarta

Article Abstract:

An analysis of the economic policies in Indonesia is presented. It was expected that the country would register a robust economic growth. However, the economy is in shambles. Though oil prices have contributed to this situation, the country's economic policies are major reason for the erratic movement of financial markets in the country.

Hong Kong forgets how to compete

Article Abstract:

The government cannot directly engender competition. Through its policies, it can grant more freedom for its people, who can then indulge in activities that boost competitiveness. The ways in which a government can enhance the competitiveness of its economy are discussed, with special reference to Hong Kong.
