Popping up blue-chip issues wins support

Article Abstract:

Domestic investors in Hong Kong commended the government for its galant effort in acquiring blue-chips shares in the market, which eventually caused the Hang Seng index for stocks to rise. The move, according to them, is well-timed and reflects the country's reputation as the laissez-faire capital of Asia. Despite such improvement, market experts expressed anxiety over Hong Kong's economic outlook, claiming that conditions may further be aggravated by the declining rates of stocks and properties.

China stocks in Hong Kong look attractive

Article Abstract:

Analysts warn of an impulsive buying on Chinese stocks trading in the Hong Kong exchange market. The growing speculation on the possible devaluation of the yuan is generating a buying spree for low-priced Chinese stocks. Lately, state-owned and several Hong Kong listed firms have performed badly in the trading floor because of the speculation. However, the best strategy is to go for selective buying, that is, choosing the firms which have posted stable share prices amidst all speculations.

Regional stocks in new phase

Article Abstract:

Asia's economic recovery has led to a sharp increase in the amount of money being devoted to production activities. This, however, has led to a slowing of investment into the region's stockmarkets, a major factor behind the continued slump in regional stock prices. Other factors that are depressing Asian stocks include growing fears about a Chinese devaluation, tension between China and Taiwan, political problems in Indonesia and the bankruptcy of chaebols in Korea.
