Poring over Bangkok shares: Hana is darling in dreary market

Article Abstract:

Investment analysts are advising investors to recognize the potential of Dana Microelectronic PCL's stock. While Thai electronic companies declined by an average of 18% in 1996, Hana has outperformed the market by posting a gain of 27%. The outstanding performance of its stock has been attributed to Hana's diversification strategy, which makes it less vulnerable to the ups and downs of the semiconductor sector. Hana manufactures a wide range of electronic components for consumer and industrial products.

Among the entertainment sectors, they forecast radio broadcasting to achieve the biggest increases in growth in 1997 and the coming years.
