Article Abstract:

A major influence in the architectural ironmongery sector in 1998 has been the introduction of several new European Standards. New products include an extended range of window and door fittings from Hoppe (UK), a three-point door locking system with one-key operation from Murray Locks, and an electrically controlled wire-free door closure system from Jebron. New products from the window and door industries include a range of 60mm profile PVC-u windows from Eurocell Profiles, and a range of high-security doors for the commercial market from Hormann.

Product review

Article Abstract:

The establishment of standards for building hardware is set to have a significant impact on the development of ironmongery, doors and windows. There have already been some significant additions to existing ranges of door furniture since mid-1996, for example, and manufacturers of controlled door-closing devices are re-assessing their products following the publication of new standards. In the window sector, many manufacturers are now offering fully finished and factory-glazed wood windows.
