Productivity will come with time

Article Abstract:

US economist Paul Krugman's criticism that East Asian growth is not sustainable because it is attributable to labor force growth and not productivity is misplaced because developing nations should not invest in research until physical capital has matured. East Asian nations claiming productivity gains over the last few decades should not try to hide the fact that most economic growth has come from making use of excess labor supplies. East Asian economic growth will continue because these economies are now beginning to invest in research and development.
