Promoting healthy business

Article Abstract:

UK firm Bemrose Corporation's acquisitive strategy has helped the company become the biggest single supplier in the approx $6 billion US promotional products market. The strategy has been masterminded by a young management team established in the early 1990s, which is highly expansion-oriented. Bemrose is one of the world's biggest calendar printers, and has a share of around 20% of the US promotional calendar market. Bemrose continues to seek acquisitions, and sees its most exciting prospects for long-term growth as being in the UK promotional products sector.

Divestments - the most direct route to deals?

Article Abstract:

However, investors are now showing more determination to win deals, and the sector is also being fuelled by a strong move towards divestment by large industrial companies. The most attractive deals in Europe are priced just as highly as those in the UK, so there are few bargains available.

East puts a brake on the City recruitment wagon

Article Abstract:

Recent developments in economic markets around the world are expected to have a negative effect on job prospects in the corporate finance arena. Forecasts of a slowdown in mergers and acquisitions markets could result in rationalisation. Short term prospects are still buoyant, with US banks maintaining their levels of recruitment across the board, and executives in demand as ever.
