Korea's virtuous trade

Article Abstract:

Korea offers the perfect example as to how liberalized free trade policies can ignite an economy. Twice in the past thirty years initiatives designed to free trade have caused huge jumps in the GDP there. Each citizen is now seven times richer than his counterpart in the 1960s.

The beach-head: Britain's car makers

Honda's Swindon, England assembly plant is the Japanese automobile industry's newest presence in Britain, which it sees and entry port to the European market. Continental European car makers are seeking protectionist measures to stem the tide of Japanese imports.
