QUANTUM SEES BIG MARKET IN INDIA

The data storage products manufacturer, Quantum Corporation of the US foresees a large market for its products in India. The company manufactures desktop and high end drives, tape drives and tape automation products and solid state disks. It plans to increase its market share in India. Quantum has recently launched 5.25 inch Bigfoot TX disk drives in Bangalore. It plans to focus on increasing sales through dealers of assembled computers and genuine Intel dealers. It has tied up with Spectra Innovations. Quantum has sold 1.75 drives of different kinds in India, particularly to banks. (vv)

REH KENDERMANN TO BRING FABER WINES TO INDIA

Article Abstract:

REH Kendermann Weinkellerei (RKW) of Germany plans to launch its Faber brand of sparkling wine in India. RKW has entered into joint venture with Mr VK Gupta to set up an integrated project in the heart of the grape belt of Nashik near Mumbai. The plant will have an annual capacity of 12.6 million litres of wine. The joint venture company, Reh Winery (India) Private Limited, will introduce the wine in India. The cost of the project is estimated to be Rs60 crore and will be implemented in two phases. (gs)

MODI-REVLON SEES MORE COLOURS

Modi-Revlon, a colour cosmetics producer, plans to introduce a new range of moisturising matte lipsticks during the fourth week of September 1998. It also proposes to increase its beauty adviser programme to 64 urban centres by the end of 1998. It also proposes to increase its coverage to 2,500 beauty parlours in 30 cities in the next 6 months. Now, it holds 10-14 percent share in the colour cosmetics market and covers about 1,500 beauty parlours in 15 cities. (ag)
