Quality control at Avant Hotels - the debut of BS 5750

Article Abstract:

The Avant Hotel was the first recipient of the British Standard 5750 (BS 5750) among hotels. The BS 5750 is a quality standard established by the British Standards Institution and originally conferred on outstanding manufacturing firms. With the recognition of Avant Hotel, other service industries are expected to vie for such certification. A certified firm expects to benefit from the publicity and experience reduced employee turnover because of the pride generated by the award among the staff. As a guide to service firms, requirements for certification are outlined.
