RAHEJA FORAYS INTO IT, PICKS UP 33% STAKE IN SONATA

Article Abstract:

Rajan Raheja is involved in real estate, hotels, financial services and cement. He has now entered in the IT (information technology) segment by acquiring 33 percent equity stake in Sonata Software Ltd (SSL). SSL is a leading software developing company, in which both Rajan Raheja and Shyam Ghia, of Indian Organic Chemicals, and his associates hold 33 percent stake. The balance rest is held by employees of SSL. SSL made a net profit of Rs5.59 crore on a gross income of Rs86 crore in 1997- 98. (gs)

ROLTA INDIA INVESTS $1.75 M IN EUROPEAN SUBSIDIARY

Rolta India, a CAD/CAM solutions provider, has invested $1.75 million in Rolta Europe BV, its subsidiary in Netherlands. The subsidiary will concentrate on expanding markets in UK, Netherlands, Germany and other European nations. Rolta India has undertaken an expansion project to offer 2D/3D plant modelling and conversion of P&ID into intelligent database for plant maintenance worldwide.
