RIL SCREENING TRADERS FOR PETROCHEM EXPORTS

Article Abstract:

Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) has started screening international petrochemical traders to help export its products. Many international trading majors like Itochu, Vinmar, NCT Middle East, Amgulf, Mitsui, Global Services International, Petroplast and about 20 others have made presentations over the last four weeks to RIL's marketing team. All of them are interested in getting the contract to export RIL's products like polypropylene (PP) and polyethylene terepthalate. RIL plans to initially export 3000 tonnes of PP per month for the next six months and increase it to 8000-10000 tonnes per month after its new capacity at Jamnagar begins operations. The company is setting up almost 6 lakh tonnes of additional PP capacity in three phases at its Jamnagar refinery. It is already exporting an average 1200 tonnes of PP per month to the Middle East, Singapore, Hong Kong and Chinese markets. (khr)
