The Rizvi group of Mumbai are involved in real estate development. It is to establish a wholly-owned subsidiary in USA. It plans to invest about $3 million in the subsidiary. The group already operates a software consultancy company, Rizvi Software Consultancy Pvt Ltd. Its gross revenue is Rs5 crore. It is engaged in Y2K conversion, recruiting of professionals and training them on IBM mainframe. The new unit will focus on research and development (R&D), marketing and multi-media services. (uh)

Kirloskar Computer Services Ltd (KCSL) of Bangalore has floated a new software company in California in the US. The new company, Kirloskar Software Services, will offer on-site services. The new company was floated around April-May, 1998. It has a capital investment of $100,000. KCSL deals in computer systems peripherals and accessories, uninterrupted power supply, software and services, batteries and registrar. (ag)
