R.Jelinek improved its results in 1999

Rudolf Jelinek (RJ) (Vizovice, Czech Republic), spirits producer, saw a profit of 1.26 mil Kc in 1999 compared to a loss of 14 mil Kc in 1998. The company improved its results due to restructuring including a decrease in the number of employees. That is why the firm's productivity of labour rose by more than 40%. About 65% of RJ's total 1999 production were represented by plum brandy. RJ produced nearly 950,000 bottles of plum brandy in 1999. The firm exported roughly 15% of its total production to Slovakia, the US, Austria, Germany, Hungary, France, Canada, South Africa, Japan and Australia in 1999.

Unipetrol: results of the company and subsidiaries

Unipetrol (Kralupy nad Vltavou, Czech Republic), holding petrochemical company, saw a profit of CEK 148.7 mil in 1-3Q 2000. During 1-3Q 1999 the company generated a profit of CEK 1.01 bil. However, the 1999 result was influenced by the inclusion of a rectifying item for a receivable at Mero CR (Kralupy nad Vltavou, Czech Republic). All of Unipetrol's four most meaningful subsidiaries were profitable in 1-3Q 2000.

R. Jelinek wants to raise plum-brandy sales

Rudolf Jelinek (RJ) (Vizovice, Czech Republic), spirit producer, wants to increase the sales of its main product, plum brandy, by 30-35% shortly. The growth should be ensured by the firm's new distributor Plzensky Prazdroj (PP) (Plzen, Czech Republic), Pilsner Urquell brewing company. PP became RJ's distributor in 1999. RJ sold goods worth a total of 164 mil Kc in 1998. About 11.2% of the sales were exports.
