Utility forecasts 2001 sales rise

Energie Baden-Wuerttemberg is forecasting approximately 15 billion marks (7.67 billion euros) in sales for the 2001 year. The group posted sales of 11.4 billion marks in sales for the 2000 year.

RWE's net more than doubles, helped by gains in stake sales

Gas, power, water, and waste services provider RWE AG net profit more than doubled in the first half of the year. Adoption of International Accounting Standards, high power prices, and disposal of its stakes in Consol Energy Inc. and Hochtief AG contributed to the profit.

RWE posts 35% rise in earnings, but warns about regulatory issues

Article Abstract:

RWE AG of Germany net profit for the second quarter soared by 35 percent to 611 million Euros ($786 million) from 452 million Euros last year. Financial projections may however come in as originally announced due to regulatory provisions. Strong revenues were due to increased electricity production and sales.
