Ramatex spins profit in threadbare market

Article Abstract:

Ramatex, a Malaysia-based textile company, is being viewed with optimism within Malaysia's increasingly depressed economy since its dollar-priced exports are not adversely affected by the fall of the value of the ringgit. Following the ringgit's loss of almost 40% of its value against the US dollar since July 1997, Ramatex, which sells 90% of its products to the US, Europe and Japan, among others, is positioned to benefit. Ramatex also benefits from the shut down of regional competitors as a result of the collapse of the Thai and Indonesian economies. Moreover, Ramatex is the only completely integrated textile company in Malaysia.
