'WordPerfect,' industry leader in the 1980s, lost market share to MicroSoft's 'Windows' operating system and subsequent word processing program, 'Words for Windows.' Now WordPerfect is regaining customers with WordPerfect for Windows, a program compatible with Microsoft's system.

Windows pain: computer software

Article Abstract:

Computer users have switched to Microsoft Windows operating systems much faster than industry expectations. One-fifth of all PCs are now Windows-equipped, leaving MS-DOS companies such as Lotus Development and WordPerfect in a struggle to catch up.
