Asian Markets Still Appear Risky as Investors Shift Money

Article Abstract:

Analysts say the continued devaluation of technology stocks means U.S. portfolio investors will send more money to other world markets, especially Europe. Money that makes its way to Asia may favor Japan's established corporations over the emerging markets of smaller Asian economies.

Return to Asia is unlikely: local woes cloud potential of U.S. stock's sway

Article Abstract:

Market observers believe that the wariness of investors in the bull run of the US stock exchange is not likely to spill over to the Asian stock markets, due to the continued perception of investors of many stumbling blocks in Asia's economic recovery. US market analysts believe that a number of investors are starting an early pullout from the US market, which has shown a longer than usual bull run. Investors are pulling out of the US stock market, sensing the impending effect of the Asian economic crisis on the stock market, and parking their investments in the European markets, US bonds or the US money market. Analysts believe that Asia will have a long time waiting for investors' money to pour into their markets, due to the jitters over Japan's economic recovery, which may still pull the region's markets down.
