Rheintalflug "dockt" an die Deutsche Lufthansa an

In the next few weeks the Austrian regional airline Rheintalflug is to sign a cooperation agreement with Lufthansa of Germany. The two firms are in talks about Rheintalflug joining Lufthansa's Miles & More scheme. In 1997 Rheintalflug had a turnover of Sch 231mn. There are plans for Rheintalflug to start flights from Friedrichshafen to Cologne and Hamburg. The company is already code-sharing flights from Friedrichshafen to Berlin and D sseldorf with Lufthansa. Rheintalflug might also start flights to Milan and Turin . On the Altenrhein -Vienna route Rheintalflug is to use a 72-seat Dash 8/400 aircraft instead of a 50-seat Dash 8/300 from 1999.

Spanair lanza su alianza comercial con Lufthansa

Article Abstract:

Spanish private airline, Spanair, will engage in a commercial alliance with German airline Lufthansa in October, 1998, according to the Spanish company. A direct flight between Madrid and Frankfurt, with connection to Alicante, will begin operating in October under a code sharing arrangement with the German airline. Some type of additional agreement could be made between the two companies according to a spokesperson for the German airline which currently operates three flights daily between Madrid and Frankfurt. The new agreement will allow it to double flights and compete with Iberia of Spain.

AUSTRIA: AUA TO INCREASE FLIGHTS TO THE FAR EAST

Article Abstract:

In the summer of 2000, Austrian Airlines (AUA) is to increase the number of weekly non-stop flights to Peking from two to three, and to Osaka from three to five. To Shanghai, the airline is to fly thrice instead of twice a week from 2001. AUA, which is changing from the Qualiflyer group to the Star Alliance, is designing a new bonus programme. Passengers can spend their Qualiflyer bonus miles at AUA until March 2001, and after that in the Qualiflyer group. Cooperation is planned with Lufthansa in the context of the Miles & More programme.
