Rough approximation of a preference relation by dominance relations

Article Abstract:

A rough sets methodology was proposed to analyze multi-criteria choice and ranking decision problems. The methodology is based on the concept of approximating a preference relation that is represented by graded dominance relations in a pairwise comparison table. It can generate a recommendation in multi-criteria choice and ranking problems through the use of decision rules obtained from the rough approximation of a preference relation.

Axiomatic characterization of a general utility function and its particular cases in terms of conjoint measurement and rough-set decision rules

Article Abstract:

The relationship between the multiple-criteria decision making preference models and the decision-rule preference model taken from the Dominance-based Rough Set Approach (DRSA) is examined. The results show that the proposed decision rule model is clearly more beneficial than the general utility function and its particular cases examined.

Assessing non-additive utility for multicriteria decision aid

Article Abstract:

A methodology for building a non-additive utility function to represent both the positive and negative interactions between criteria as expressed by the Decision Maker's utility function is proposed. However, as the number of parameters and reference alternatives increase, alternative methodologies can be employed for better results.
