Rudolf von Thadden, marriage-guidance counsellor

Article Abstract:

Rudolf von Thadden is the German coordinator for cooperations between France and Germany. He is a history professor who has been adviser to Chancellor Gerhard Schroder. There has been a move toward understanding and away from reconciliation that affects relations between the two countries. Post-war reconciliation was initially seen as a shared goal between the two countries. He has sympathy with the French view of the US and fear of the dominance of US culture, but argues that political stances should not be determed by concern about culture.
