SCA finds a perfect fit

Article Abstract:

SCA has acquired PWA, a German paper company, following a long period of negotiations. Agreement on the acquisition was announced in Jan 1995 after a number of problems such as price and insider trading legislation had been tackled. Bavarian state officials were consulted due to PWA's role as an employer in Bavaria. The acquisition has helped SCA improve its position in the European forestry market. SCA has moved into first place in the European market for corrugated packaging, and has made cost savings in hygiene.
