Article Abstract:

Digital Equipment (India) has been renamed as Compaq Computer Technologies India Ltd (CCTIL) after the merger of its parent firm Digital with the Compaq. In 1997-98, CCTIL had bagged the second ranking in PC server sales. It had launched the world's thinnest notebook Hi Note Ultra 2000 during the year. It has tie- ups with world's leading software firms-Oracle and Microsoft. It also opened Telecom Development Centre. In the software area it has won ISO 9001 certification for its software centre. It undertakes Y2K projects and deals in support work. (gs)(psr)

FUJITSU WANTS NAME REMOVED FROM FUJITSU ICIM

Article Abstract:

Fujitsu Ltd wants all reference to its name removed from Fujitsu ICIM (Ficim) as it has decided to exit the Indian company by selling all shares held by it and by Fujitsu Australia Ltd. It has asked Ficim to remove the reference to its name with effect from July 12, 1999. Fujitsu holds 10 percent of all outstanding shares of Ficim. (khr)
