SP GOENKA SPLITS BUSINESS AMONG SONS

Article Abstract:

The SP Goenka group has been divided among the member of the family. Mr Vinay K Goenka will take over the tea, travel and the engineering businesses. Mr Pawan Goenka and Mr Raju K Goenka will be holding the plywood businesses in Assam and the Andaman and Nicobar islands, laminates, vegetable oils, chemicals and sugar businesses. Mr Vinay K Goenka will be taking over the Rs260-crore Warren Tea and Industries and Darjeeling Plantations Ltd. Mr Pawan Goenka and Mr RK Goenka will be in-charge of the Kitply Industries, Vegepro Ltd, Global Sugars Ltd. They will be controlling other business like industrial and decorative laminates and chemicals business in Assam and Arunachal Pradesh. (ag)

SFL PLANS TO INVEST Rs15 CR FOR SANTRO, INDICA COMPONENTS

Article Abstract:

Sundaram Fasteners Ltd (SFL) is an automobile fasteners manufacturer. It proposes to spend Rs15 crore on setting up facilities for producing automobile parts for the Santro car of Hyundai and the Indica car of Tata Engineering and Locomotive Company (Telco). SFL will be offering powder metal parts for both the Santro and the Indica range of cars. SFL posted sales of Rs326.61 crore and a net profit of Rs25.53 crore in 1997-98. (ag)
