SSIL SETS UP LOGISTICS CENTRE IN CHENNAI

Article Abstract:

Sembawang Shriram Integrated Logistics (P) Ltd (SSIL) of Chennai has set up its first logistics centre at Puzhal near Chennai. SSIL is a joint venture between Shriram group and Sembawang Marine and Logistics of Singapore. The company plans to set up six such centres at different cities including Bangalore, Nagpur and Delhi. The Chennai centre has a total storage area of 100,000 square feet with each square metre having a floor load capacity of seven tonnes. The centre is provided with multi-client user facility which will process information and offers customised logistics solutions to clients. SSIL uses customised inventory software to manage its inventory. (gs)(m)

Future Focus Infotech Pvt Ltd of Chennai is setting up a new development centre at Chennai over the next three months. The centre will concentrate on developing component based solutions, Internet and Linux-based applications. The company has started the advanced Internet programming course version 3.0, which consists of three modules spread over 6 months, in order to meet the needs of its trainees.
