STE reduces its dependence on CEZ

Article Abstract:

Stredoceska energetika (STE) (Prague, Czech Republic), power firm, saw proceeds of 9.1 bil Kc and a net profit of 272 mil Kc in 1999. The firm sold a total of 6.41 TWh of electric power in 1999. It purchases electric power from the power firm CEZ (Prague, Czech Republic) and Energeticke centrum Kladno (Kladno, Czech Republic), which ensures 25% of its supply. CEZ ensured 88.6% of STE's supply in 1999. The share should be 62.6% in 2000. Further decrease in supplies from CEZ is not real.

Chinese collectable and antiques are appearing not only in fashionable antique shops and bought up by celebrities, but also at out-of-town flea markets and small antique shops. Good buys include modern paintings, easier to authenticate than older ones. Price for a set of Ming rosewood chairs is $100,000.
