Sakhalin delays exports of LNG to Asia and U.S

Article Abstract:

Russian-led Sakhalin Energy Investment Co. announced that its first exports to US and Asian customers will be delayed by a minimum of a few months. Sakhalin, which includes partners Mitsui and Co., Mitsubishi Corp., Royal Dutch Shell PLC, and is led by OAO Gazprom, had originally planned to begin exports in the third fiscal quarter of 2008, but Sakhalin indicates plant construction will take until the end of 2008.

French energy firms bid for Mideast nuclear deals

Article Abstract:

France's state-owned energy engineering company Areva S.A. announced that it is joining two other French firms, utility Suez S.A. and oil company TOTAL S.A., to provide two nuclear reactors to the United Arab Emirates. The reactors would begin operating in 2016, and will cost approximately $8.87 bil to build.

Home-brewed power delivers a jolt; industrial users aim to reduce energy tab with cogeneration

Exxon Mobil Corp. is builing a towering cogeneration power plant in Antwerp, Belgium. The facility is designed to reduce greenhouse gases, and will provide Exxon's refinery with power, saving money spent on energy.
