Seattle shivers

Article Abstract:

Seattle, Washington, may apear to have few problems with a mild climate, lack of serious social problems, and cheap electricity, but there are some concerns, such as World Trade Organization protests. Economic concerns include job shedding by Boeing, the decline of the forest products industry, the impact on agriculture of the Asian crisis, and a focus on the consumer internet companies when business-to-business companies appear to offer more future. Unemployment is rising and emigration is greater than immigration. There are also income disparities which concern some inhabitants.
