Hyundai faces uphill battle

The article is about Hyundai Motors, which together with Kia Motors, controls almost 70% of its domestic market. Even though Hyundai's U.S. exports are at their highest level in 10 years, however, investors are not buying the company's stock, which has lost 57% of its value since August.

Sedan project may stall Brilliance China's plans: analysts aren't singing praises of the minivan maker's new car tune

Brilliance China Automotive, the largest maker of minivans in China, but expanding the company's core market may become more difficult because small competitors are nipping at its market share, so the company is diversifying into sedans. For Brilliance, the challenge will be great because it is using the designs and components of other manufacturer in its own car, which will require a higher level of engineering skill, attention to quality, and will face competition from foreign manufacturers. The risk involved for Brilliance is discussed.

Meanwhile, Kia officials stated that the company's prevailing financial problems resulted from an ongoing capacity-expansion drive, labor unrest and high depreciation charges.
