Shallow approach to beams

Article Abstract:

BRC Square Grip introduces Delta, a new type of composite flooring system which offers advantages including good fire performance. The basis of the system is the Deltabeam. The inclined sides and longer bottom rims of these steel beams can support flooring types including in-situ concrete and solid precast planks. The beams have 150mm horizontal holes punched through them, some of which can contain services, but they also act as keys to the concrete when construction workers fill the beams with concrete on site.

The project is the group's first completely new building with a timber-frame. The Timberwrights group consists of individual craftsmen cooperating on big projects. The group retains the spirit of the journeyman, making no clear distinction between work and other parts of life.
