Computacenter reports 37% rise in pretax profit

Article Abstract:

Computacenter PLC posted a 37% improvement in its pretax profits for the 1998 year. The improvement was higher-than-expected. The company's profit rise was attributed to its shift to the information-technology services industry. The shift is expected to offset the slower sales improvement in Computacenter's hardware-distribution market for the 1999 year. The 1998 year represented Computacenter'' 16th straight year of revenue and profit improvements.
