Shell targets projects in China and Nigeria

Article Abstract:

Royal Dutch/Shell Group has agreed to help construct an $18 billion (Euro20.15 billion) gas pipeline in China and also made an investment in oil and gas in Nigeria. The UK's Shell International Gas Ltd., a unit of Shell, has made an initial agreement to help build the pipeline in China.

China is assertive but treads softly at trade meeting

China has entered the World Trade Organization negotiations in Cancun, Mexico with the objective of securing major reductions in U.S. and European agricultural subsidies. However, China did not want to be overly assertive at the talks.

Siberian pipeline project fuels rivalries between China, Japan

Article Abstract:

China is working to save a multibillion-dollar oil pipeline project with Russia. The project is designed to transport oil supplies from Siberia to China. However, Japan is also trying to have the pipeline supply oil to its shores.
