Silence of the lambs

Article Abstract:

There is concern that graduates in Malaysia might not be sufficiently prepared to assist the country to develop economically. Khoo Kay Kim, professor of history at Malaya University, is worried about the attitude of students who just want to take notes and pass examinations, and do as they are told without question, and employers have complained that graduate standards are not good enough. The problem results from the fear of students of being imprisoned for asking questions which they ought not to ask. They also have a problem with the language, as classes are given in English.
