Article Abstract:

Templeton Asset Management Ltd. head, Mark Mobius, is investigating allegations of mismanagement by majority members of Sime Darby Pilipinas Inc. which may jeopardize minority shareholder interest. Minority shareholders have filed a protest with the Philippine Securities and Exchange Commission for the board's decision to spend some $30.82 million in purchasing controlling interest in a sister company. Templeton, which owns a 5% stake in the firm, has vowed to prevent any such transaction to occur if the allegations are proved to be true.
