Business visitors prasie Cambodia, but come problems still remain

Article Abstract:

Business travels find telecommunications are expensive and their infrastructure outdated in Cambodia. None of the top three hotels in Phnom Penh have Internet access in the rooms. Other hotel services, transportation, road repair, air travel and tourism policy are discussed.

KIDS Grows Up--Fast

In Cambodia, the small company Khmer Internet Development Services (KIDS) owns three Internet cafes, sets up e-mail accounts, teaches Internet courses, and designs web-pages. The three young partners who run it are in the forefront of making cyberspace services accessible to Cambodians.

Singapore casts lures for tourists to counter an economic downturn

Article Abstract:

Singapore launched an aggressive campaign to attract tourists in the island. Its master plan titled `Tourism 21' aims to improve the country's attractions. It includes a `Friends of Singapore' promotion which gives prizes and incentives to Singaporeans who can successfully bring in their friends and relatives from abroad before May 15, 1999. Similarly, Singapore Airlines has extended its `Singapore Stopover Splendor' campaign which provides a one-night hotel accommodation for as low as US$1.
