The UK skin care market amounted to 658.8 million pounds sterling in 1998, with the market expanding by 32.6%, at current prices, between 1994 and 1998. The market is dominated by facial skin care with a 66.5% share of value sales. The body care sector was the most dynamic over the five year period, rising by 44.9% to 221 million pounds sterling in 1998. The leading manufacturer is Procter and Gamble with a 14.9% value share. It is expected that the skin care market will reach 860.3 billion pounds sterling by 2003, up 30.6% from 1998.
