Web calling

Article Abstract:

Telecommunications companies in Asia are becoming aware that Internet telephony technology has considerable potential. Indeed, many are now entering this market sector in order to ensure that they do not face competition from smaller Internet players for their valuable international direct dial business. However, there are still some regulatory barriers to the spread of Internet telephony in Asia. Most Asian countries still strictly regulate international-call services, but they may find it hard to monitor Internet telephony.

Smooth operation

Article Abstract:

Apple Computer has an interesting product range, but tends to attract only negative publicity. It is worth being aware that Apple Macs still offer a great deal of personal computing power and are still a viable alternative to PCs running Microsoft's Windows operating systems. Latest products from Apple Computer include the Power Mac G3 range, which the company claims can run as fast as Windows PCs using the new Intel Pentium II 300 MHz chip. Software and hardware for Macs is available for every function a user could wish for.

Article Abstract:

Labor costs are high in Hong Kong retail operations, and space is scarce, so supermarkets may be cramped with long queues. New technology, such as bar codes, can help tackle the problem, and there is also potential for using the internet for cybergroceries. One such operation has been set up by Wellcome, a supermarket chain, which is using the iTV inetractive television service from Hong Kong Telecom's IMS. Sellers can benefit from being able to target consmers more effectively.
