South African Telkom sale

Article Abstract:

There are plans for an Initial Public Offering following the purchase by SBC Communications and Telekom Malaysia of a 30% stake in South African telecommunications concern Telkom. However, it is unlikely that a decision will be made until after the present five-year exclusivity period for Telkom expires. The stake in Telkom is held by Thintana Communications, a new company of which SBC holds 60% and Telekom Malaysia 40%.
