National Grid mulls buying 2nd U.S. utility

National Grid Group is considering the possibility of acquiring Eastern Utilities Associates. The proposed deal follows National Grid's announcement that it plans to acquire New England Electric Systems for $3.2 billion. According to analysts, a deal with Eastern Utilities would come out to $800 million to $1 billion.
