Very affordable avionics

Article Abstract:

Airservices Australia has announced plans to conduct trials for the new Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast (ADS-B) system on small aircraft. The trial will begin early in 2002 and will initially involve 17 commuter and air taxi aircraft in the Bundaberg/Burnett River Basin region of eastern Australia. The main objective of the trial is to determine whether ADS-B can provide radar-like separations in areas not under full radar coverage.
