Speed of internationalization and entrepreneurial cognition: insights and a comparison between international new ventures, exporters and domestic firms

Article Abstract:

The study was conducted to analyze the relationship between aspects of managerial cognition and speed of internationalization with regard to international entrepreneurship. To gather data, the researchers personally interviewed the top managers of different small and medium enterprises. The study found out that for all respondents, international orientation caused higher proactivity and a lower perception of risk.

The effects of entrepreneurial proclivity and foreign market knowledge on early internationalization

Article Abstract:

The study analyzed the relationship between foreign market knowledge and early internationalization of firms. Data were collected by conducting surveys and interviews with executives and senior managers of different companies in China. The study confirmed that foreign market knowledge causes early and fast internationalization as a consequence of international entrepreneurial proclivity.

The drivers of the early internationalization of the firm

Article Abstract:

Early onset of international activities, or precocity in small and medium enterprises is found to be positively associated with niche speed positioning. Factors specific to the entrepreneur, business, location, and network are identified as drivers of a firm's early internationalization under the proposed theoretical framework.
