Star TV shows some muscle in Asia with pacts involving NBC and ESPN

Article Abstract:

News Corp. subsidiary Star TV has been able to sign up both rivals NBC and ESPN International for separate contracts involving cable program services in Asia. Star TV's deal with ESPN Asia would enable both to monopolize sports programming in the region. It would also possibly cut down on the exorbitant costs that consumers pay for televised sports activities. The deal with NBC involves operations in India and Indonesia.
