Studying consideration in the consumer decision process: progress and challenges

Article Abstract:

Interest in the study of consideration has been increasing in recent years. This interest is driven in part by the realization that a good understanding of brand evaluation and brand choice processes has been attained, but brand consideration has received little attention in research. From a practical standpoint, brand managers are concerned about the lack understanding of how their products could enter consumers' consideration sets in crowded markets. Three broad perspectives in the study of consideration are presented.
