Subsidise, apologise: trade

Article Abstract:

The US and EC have reached an agreement on subsidies to aircraft manufacturers. but other subsidy disputes have become worse. The US wants other countries to stop subsidies and dumping of steel. A GATT panel ruled that EC subsidies violate an oilseed agreement with the US.

Bushwhacked: the GATT trade talks

Article Abstract:

The once-promising Uruguay Round trade negotiations were again suspended in Oct 1992, because US and EC negotiators were unable to agree on cuts in EC farm subsidies. Subsidies to oilseed farmers are a particular sticking point.
