Automatic savings

Article Abstract:

Operation and maintenance costs of environmental remediation systems may be reduced by automating the control and monitoring of facilities over a wide area using a supervisory control and data acquisition system. The system involves the integration of both telemetry and computer technology. It is then combined with a wide area network and the Internet to allow technicians to oversee and fine-tune the system from any distant location. The savings are realized in the retrofitting of the existing systems and reductions in waste removal expenses and system downtimes.
