Despite 25% jump in net, Club Med won't relax

Article Abstract:

Club Mediterranee reported an improvement of 25% in its net profits for the first half of the 1999 fiscal year. Philippe Bourgugnon, the chairman and chief executive of Club Med, said that the group will continue seeking acquisition and alliance opportunities in the rapidly changing travel industry in Europe. Mr. Bourgugnon asserted that Club Med would not be targeted for a hostile takeover offer.

German bid to link DASA, Aerospatiale finds French resistance
