TELCO TO DIVEST CONSTRUCTION EQUIPMENT BUSINESS TO ARM

Article Abstract:

Tata Engineering and Locomotive Company Ltd (Telco) is divesting its construction equipment business to a new subsidiary company called Telco Construction Equipment Company Ltd. The business is valued at about Rs400 crore but analysts say that it would be sold at a higher price. The divestment is a plan to bring in funds to Telco and to take advantage of the investment plans for the infrastructure sector. The division, which currently produces equipment like crawler mounted shovels, excavators, clamshells, dumpers and cranes, will have the freedom to launch new products with international alliances. STAR TV SET TO HIKE CHANNEL V STAKE TO 62%

Article Abstract:

Star TV has decided to increase its stake in Channel V from 50 percent to 62 percent over the next three years. Sony Pictures Entertainment and EMI Music, who are also partners in Channel V, will also increase their holdings in the company from 12.5 percent each held at present to 15 percent each. This change in the equity holding structure is being done as there is a need to infuse an additional $35 million into Channel V. (khr)
