DHANALAKSHMI BANK MAY GO FOR CAPITAL BASE REVAMP

Article Abstract:

Dhanalakshmi Bank of Thrissur is thinking of restructuring its capital base as it has calls in arrears estimated at Rs16 crore which is about 38 percent of the bank's public issue. The bank had come out with a public issue of 82 lakh shares at a premium of Rs40 per share to mobilise Rs42 crore from the market in 1996. The bank is thinking of reducing its lot size or going in for private placement of shares. It is also exploring the possibility of financial institutions investing in it. (khr)
